Our Story
I grew up surrounded by jewellery. With a long family history in the antique jewellery world, I understood from an early age that a piece of jewellery can hold far more than its material value. In 1856, my great-great-grandfather was an apprentice watchmaker in Clerkenwell, London. Today, our jewellers are based just around the corner in Hatton Garden — over 170 years later, it feels as though the story has come full circle.
I still remember the first piece my father gave to me when I was seven — a tiny 9ct gold enamelled ladybird pendant. I treasured it. Even then, there was something about jewellery that felt different: the way something so small could carry a feeling with it.
Years later, life took me from London to France when I moved with my husband for his career in rugby. I left my job in the City, studied for a Master’s in International Business Development, and eventually returned to the world I had always loved: jewellery.
FABENÔ grew from those different parts of my life — a family heritage in jewellery, years spent living in France, and a love of travel and the feeling of being somewhere else.
Our collections are inspired by places and the memories we bring home from them: light on water, long summer evenings, the architecture of a favourite city, or simply that feeling of arriving somewhere you love.
I design every piece in France before it is made in London; we work slowly and in small quantities, creating jewellery that is made to be worn often and kept for years.
I feel that jewellery has always had the ability to remind us of a person, a place or a moment, gather meaning over time, and bring back a feeling long after that moment has passed.
I hope you find something here that becomes part of your own story.
Bisous,
Florence x
